What's new

TV Series - Arrow

Is anyone else watching this series? I am all caught up, I watched all of Season 1 on Netflix before Season 2 began airing.

Season 1 was great, but Season 2 continues to get better and better.

I don't want to spoil anything for people that may not be entirely caught up, but there have been some pretty interesting plot developments that I wanted to talk about.

DO NOT READ SPOILER IF YOU ARE NOT CAUGHT UP:

- Season 1 main villain: Malcolm Merlyn - Earthquake Machine
- Season 2 villain: Brother Blood and the Mirakuru. The origin of Solomon Grundy (repeat characters)
- Season 2 story development: Barry Allen, Flash origin story told. Initially intended to be a backdoor pilot for the Flash series that will be launching later this year.
- Season 2 story development: Backstory tie-in to Ras Al Ghul and the League of Assassins.
- Season 2 story development (tonights episode): Mystery figure is putting together a 'squad', beginning recruiting. I believe tonights episode is beginning to build some story for the Suicide Squad.

I just started this week actually! Very likable, some cringe worthy characters but good! I like watching it
It starts out a little campy, I don't think they really knew what direction they were going with the series initially.

The Island storyline is kind of the saving grace of Season 1 since it is pretty well structured. Season 1 hits you with a lot of various villains, which if you're familiar with the DC Universe you will definitely appreciate a lot of it.

I would say the show starts figuring out what it is about pretty much 3/4ths of the way through Season 1. Season 2 has been solid.

There has been a lot of good character development, and several hints to entities that are much bigger in scope that they will end up revisiting later as the story unfolds.

Stick with it.

This is one of the few shows that I can't stop watching. The core group of characters are amazing ( though I wish Loral would disappear like Mrs. Queen)
I have been following some of the story and actors thoughts (Stephen Amell - Oliver Queen). He sometimes drops subtle hints at some of the future episodes and things we can expect to see.

I know most of Season 2 Laurel has been incredibly difficult to like, I think the teaser for next weeks episode we are going to get some decent character development between her and
Black Canary, as well as Black Canary's origins with the League of Asassins.

I expect the directors will finally give the Laurel character some purpose and make the audience start liking her again pretty soon. She seems like she is hitting rock bottom right now.

I am not familiar with most of the side characters they bring in but searching online for all of the interconected paths and winks at other characters is really a blast.

I have yet to watch this week's episode since I work 7p to 7a tonight but I am hope you are right. Every time she is on camera it makes me want to take a bridge

Where's TJ Combo?
It started out good then it became boring, I still watch it tho.

I prefer Dracula which ended last friday!

What I think is most interesting about the show is that it seems to be so well received that some of the characters created/introduced in the shows are now finding their way into the Comic-Book Universe.

As a whole, I think Green Arrow as a character hasn't been that successful on the Comic-Book front. The only series I really think has any sort of credibility when I look around is the Long Bow Hunters.

I hate to compare it to Batman and Gotham City, but they really are building a pretty interesting Universe around Star(ling) City.

i don't know how to do the spoiler thing but I have mixed feelings about them giving a brand new series to the character they introduced at the midseason finale. I feel they could have had some intersting storylines with him in the show but now I fear we will never see that.

I have some predictions about what I think WB/CW is going to do for their fall programming and possibly some future endeavors that I hope I am right about.

The initial introduction of Flash was supposed to be for Episodes 7 and 8 where you have a 2 part introduction which is what we saw that introduces you to the character Barry Allen and gives you an idea of how he obtained his powers.

At the end of this season, Flash is/was expected to return for a Backdoor Pilot episode to gauge interest. I believe that idea has been scrapped because they are confident that they want to move forward with the Flash series/project as a stand-alone entity and want to introduce it through that series itself rather than relying on the success of Arrow.

I really liked the Barry Allen character in Arrow and how they introduced the origins of his powers.

There has been some casting and rumors for the Flash series itself.

Detective West (character), was cast who might be the father of a love interest for Barry Allen. He might also be the father of Wally West who is also Flash.

I believe there are rumors that the main nemesis might be Professor Zoom based on the backstory that Barry Allen described within Arrow (his purpose, identifying who murdered his mother and absolving his father from having been framed for the murder.)

I really hope the Flash TV series ends up being well-received and good in general.

I also believe that WB/CW has been interested in a Nightwing series in the past (The Graysons).

There are rumors that Nightwing may have been casted for a future episode within Arrow. I am wondering if maybe they might introduce Nightwing as a character and whether or not he has continuity in the Arrow storyline in the future, maybe they would develop a TV series around that as well.

If CW somehow managed to rotate (Arrow, Flash, Nightwing) tv series on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday schedule or even as year round series (Spring: Arrow, Summer: Nightwing, Fall: Flash) That would be amazing to me.

Oh god, me, @DarkSlayerSmith, and lots of friends are following since season one, everytime a new episode comes out, we're there.

"You've cost 4 peoples lives now...."

And in particular we love how the ppl who as been on the island has the habit of teleporting to nowhere towards civilians and other ppl who wasn't on the island, we've seen Arrow, Black Canary and now Deathstroke doing this, so amazing.

The Episode will be available this friday here, so i will post my thoughs on the next episode once i watch it.

Truth, justice and the American way.
I fucking love this show. I can't emphasize enough how awesome it is to anyone who hasn't been watching.

Also, every female on that show with the exception of Ollie's mother is hotter than Sarah and Laurel. Black Canary is supposed to be a goddamned 10/10.

I'm really hoping Felicity becomes Black Canary in this rendition. She makes my penis tingle.

I love Slade/DS in this series.

I agree that Laurel has been unbearable lately, I was actually surprised that Oliver called Sarah in to check on her. At first I was thinking "Oh, who's going to kidnap this bitch now?" Looking forward to next week's episode.

I'd like to see someone really overpowered make a cameo like Superman/WW or maybe even Bane. I was actually surprised they didn't try to use him instead of
Cyrus Gold
on mirakuru since it seems similar to venom.

Fred Marvel

It's actually Freddy Marvel
tonights episode was great
finally Roy is gonna be (Arsenal?) doing something with them, i wonder what his costume will look lie though, im not too stoked about Deathstroke's, it looks already but the helmet looks horrible, idk where they are going with Laurel but she's become really boring, just bring more DC character cameos like waller pls

Roy`s girlfriend tho``I have a very desaproving girlfriend!!´´
that women can trash talk you to into a argument and you would not find a proper comeback at all.

I love Arrow! I don't even watch tv but being a DC nerd I have to watch every week. There's sooooo many parts you roll your eyes at but overall man I can't get enough.

I shit my pants this week when Amanda Waller straight up comes out about putting together the mother fucking SUICIDE SQUAD. This show just keeps getting better.

Also, i'm way hype about Slade finally being Deathstroke. I wasn't a fan of the costume they had first season but Slade is looking BEAST right now.
