How MK10 can innovate and still be MK

Mechanical Engineering Bitch!
Has NRS ever being able to implement something correctly thus far?

Damn... shots fired. We can still have a little faith in them considering the negative and positive feedback that they've been given from both MK9 and Injustice. These were their first two attempts at two vastly different games. For a company relatively new to the FGC, these were OK attempts. I can only see them making better decisions from this point on. Then again, I might just be too hopeful.

If they kept the 3 bar per meter thing i think itd be cool to combine enhanced specials and meter burn specials for 2 bars of meter.

Like sektors up rocket would be homing enhanced but once it hits you can meter burn it so itll pop the opponent up for combos
Sektor's homing missile or up missle already grants a full combo on hit without popping the character up

Also just throwing this out there. I dint think projectile trading should be,in mk at all. It just wouldn't feel like a mk game if it happened
What is an MK game though? The only really consistent feature MK has is it's blocking mechanic.

If you want to get technical MK9 isn't a real "MK" game because it's nothing like its predecessors as far as gameplay goes.

Ed Boon is still making these games right? Then ya, MK10 is gonna be different then MK9.

What if some characters could jump higher than others?
Injustice already has different jump arcs and different jump attacks, it would be weird for NRS to go backwards for MK10

What if each character had different amounts of life?
Paulo has mentioned in the past he doesn't care for this idea, so I doubt we will see it.

What if a few characters didn't do chip damage because their hitstun is so powerful (or instead they don't build super meter from hitting a blocking opponent)?
That's... I don't see why those would have to be connected.

What if some characters built super meter from actually hitting their opponent?
Character specific meter building is something that should happen, and sort of already in Injustice.

What if you could choose from 3 different types of super meters (you could choose to have no combo breakers in exchange for much more damage/armor on EX moves)?
Alpha 3 does this, and it was cool, but I don't see NRS going that route, but they do need to do something about breakers.

What if each character had wake up-only attacks?
That might be kinda neat? Maybe each character has one specific wakeup only attack, and its pretty strong, but it costs half your meter to do it?

What if one character couldn't even jump, but he could run?
A few characters having a run instead of a dash would be cool, but the jump thing is a bad idea.

What if one character had projectiles that traded?
All projectiles should trade, unless its a very unique weird one, NRS Loony Toons style zonning is getting really tiresome.

animalities, like a trait that play like the opposite of their main play style last for 10 seconds or something (zoners become rushdown, and vice versa)
probably not practical but would be suuuuper awesome, and probably keep a nice balance of things, cause people will be like oh i cant get in, oh well your animality will give you better tools on getting in

Shoot them. Shoot them all.
I agree with most of the comments being made here...especially PerfectMindGame

1.)I think it's inevitable they will add a few drastic "new" features, some will probably be absurd.

2.)They have pressure from a long line of execs...who don't care about tourney players or the 2%.

3.)THEY MUST ADD UNIVERSAL FEATURES. I love the fact that every character in IGAU have armor on B3/F3. They need to implement something like this (perfect example: Sindel=no armor. Kenshi=buckets of armor. Both "zoners".)

4.) I would actually like cross-up's completely taken out. This ambiguous shit....which side of my head are they going to land on is such a pain. Actually, I'd love it if they made ALL jumps no higher than Nightwing's in staff stance.

5.) At the end of the day...I don't care what they do as long as it looks like Mortal Kombat....feels like Mortal Kombat....and I have a block button with dash cancels. ;)

I don't ever remember the projectiles trading in mk though for me its always been that AND the block button

I know i was just giving an example of what i meant when i said enhance then meterburn to add a new mechanic to the game

My argument and point are still valid, while your point proves nothing.

How about we take all the features out of MK that aren't "MK" and see if you like it lol.

I wasn't trying to prove anything i was saying what MK was to me

And without all the features that make mk, mk itd be a bad version of other games that already exist

Which MK? You can't name 2 MK games that are over 60% alike lol. It's revamped with almost every iteration.

In my opinion, NRS should polish MK9's system because it's honestly not bad. New features WILL almost certainly be added anyway.
