Strategy How To Deal With Opponents Who Cross Up

Ermac can d1 to hit the opponent out of the air, d3 to avoid being hit (lowers hit box) or his best option is to dash under and lift which of course leads to a full combo. This also works on characters that have teleport moves like KL, Cyrax, Rain etc...

EVERYONE can d1 aa crossups into a full combo. Even characters that instantly loose for pressing d1. This is well know for YEARS now.
Like holy fuck guys how free is TYM? I'm really disappointed here, this is some super basic stuff.
Maybe we need a complete video guide

There is no need to call people out like that, Mash. -_- What may be easy for some, is not the same for others.

Besides, if a d1 fails - and believe me, it can, online or offline - it's a full combo for the opponent. For this reason, people prefer falling back on safer measures. Nothing wrong with improvising.

well a lot of d1s have kind of crappy AA hitboxes like Sonya or Stryker, and some have really slow d1s like Reptile and Liu Kang.

Also Jump Kick will always beat D1, so it's good to have other options.

Actually #1 reason is that there is a spacing that you can get where you baaaaaarely cross the opponent over, and they can't turn around and d1 in time (because turning around takes 5 frames or whatever.) Krayzie and Red Reaper both have this spacing really down and use it all the time against me, so I can't just d1 those. Generally to beat that I dash underneath them then AA or I do a NJP.

That situation is almost the exact same thing that happens when you cross someone up in the corner too, so you have to deal with them the same way.

For Mac, you can d1 or d1~lift. His d3 also lowers hit hit box significantly.

" Bros before Hoes"
Nightwolf : ex choke, dash-Axe(I think)
Sonya: D1= terrible
Rain: Dash-D4 into pressure , ex RH
Cyber sub: Dash- close bomb Lol (I know its stupid but it works for me sometimes:p )

you can d1 crossover jik, it will only blow you up if you never moved. I d1 with Sonya, I do it with everybody even Noob and reptile
It just works. Like hella works. Infact I can't possibly fathom that there is a possability that its not always gonna be the best possible option for any character. Jumping just isn't safe

Smoke can d1, d1 smoke bomb if they are touching or within d1 distance and cross up. If they are farther away you can hit them with 2 if you are a Jedi. You can also enhanced shake. Dashing under them is iffy I can't get it down Smoke's dash is meh. Maybe smoke in?
I always thought the same but once you get the timing of dashing under then d1 it makes it more reliable especially vs kicks shallow or deep.
Dash under smoke away causes a weird camera glitch where the cloud follows their jump arc but smoke appears b2 distance away from where the smoke animation stopped. It almost always causes a wtf moment which is good.

Edit: also dash under standing 2 is the way to go the spacing makes the 2 AA a little less of a jedi move biggest issue is accidental b2's.

Shadow Priest
scorpion: d1/ possibly teleport and ex spear i'm not too sure of. Can d2 of course and do ex leg takedown/ xray.
Sub can do ex slide/ 22 freeze to a full combo.
Liu can standing 2 crossups then go into a full combo/ can standing 1 them as well. He could also do ex bicycle kick and xray.
Isn't X-ray and Ex Bicycle Kick a bit risky?

YES!
Jax's 1 works just fine if you dash out of the way, D1 can be a bit more reliable sometimes though

i know Shang's best options have already been mentioned but you can also do F34 if you read the jump and dash out early enough, its kinda situational and tricky to do but hitting it feels pretty godlike. Reverse input SS also works if you are in the corner getting crossed up, only really works if your opp crosses you up when he's at point blank, i'd only do this if it would kill them too because if your opp blocks the second hit you will definitely get blown up

Rains best options are ex rh for reliability and damage, d3 to make jip whiff, and d1 if you get it out in time.

Jump back kicks are one of the safest and most powerful ways to deal with jumpers as well. Many characters also have options off of air kicks. M2dave uses these very well defensively with his Freddy.

For reppy, d1 works pretty nicely and you can follow up with a ff 32xxffb, sfb etc.

Or elbow dash to slide, which is more reliable but not as swaggy.
dash to dash, better oki and dmg.

very nice on the d3 to give slide enough time to connect on a crossup and not whiff

also diggin the thread because ijust started developing the habit of dashing under crossups.
