Oh I know what you mean. Kitana's D1 as cross up defense won't save her. After watching Mr. Mileena against Cat and Rev0lver against Perfect Legend, her D1 was punished heavily from a cross up jip combo so I guess the D1 safe get out of jail card Kitana era days is done too :\ I can only assume Kitana's D3 is her only saving grace during a cross up defense since it shrinks her hitbox like Jade/Mileena's D3?

You almost won that one too with Kitana against PL's Kung Lao after an impressive victory against his Kabal and Raiden ;_;
I was observing and I noticed literally every D1 got punished from a cross up, maybe her D3 small hitbox defense mechanism is the new D1 :D

Slips was over here this weekend and we ran a lot of sets. He just can't keep up with the way I play Kitty now. What is he going to do about her footsies? His d+4 that leads to nothing? He has nothing to stop her from back walking and blowing him up with 2,1 when he dashes in except naked spear. Jk~fan blows up his AA. He has like no way to win except hoping he gets a jump in and guesses right like 4 times in the vortex. Even then she does hella when he guesses wrong lol.
 
GGA 16 Bit ty for the update, 2 questions why Sonya and Kitana are even, Sonya seem strongger vs Kitana, tell me what changed ur mind about this one, and why Raiden now beats Kitana?

I worked on Sonya with Wafflez playing Sonya at GGA. Then I put the practice to the test against Riu48 and Showtime in casuals at my last two tournaments.

I've always suspected Raiden beats her. Carl has been here and is practicing with Raiden a lot. This MU is stupid.

nice list Bit, I feel the same about all these match ups, except skarlet and sonya. but I trust you on the sonya one, I think I'm approaching it wrong.

I usually just poke Raidens to death whit quick d1 cutters to teleports or most just are jump happy after a teleport and njp beats them all the time.
 
Any particular reasons for the 4/6 vs Smoke besides the damage output? I really don't have trouble against him while using Kit.

He basically is an equal match for her footsies, which is her best trait. Plus he shuts down her zoning. Shuts down her counter poke game. Can runaway giving her limited options. She cannot punish Smoke Bomb on block or even begin serious pressure. Has a rough time with his d+4 pressure. Has godlike anti-air to deal with jk~fan shenanigans. He punishes her well. This is basically a MU where they're both good at the same thing except he can limit what makes her good, while she doesn't especially do anything to stop him from playing his game.

I never had trouble against him either until I moved to Chicago and started running this MU hardcore with Wafflez.

BTW everyone always blows me up for this one....so I was happy to see CD Jr in the GGA stream Sunday completely agree with everything I say about this MU and say CD Sr thinks the same thing.

but for real what can raiden do? after every teleport a d1 will hit, or a reverse ex fan lift into a full combo, what are raidens options, hes normals are slower than Kitanas, thats why I want to know.

That works on the typical Raiden who teleports when he thinks you're going to do something. Carl is the only Raiden who gets the teleport. He uses it when he sees you do something.

Thanks GGA 16 Bit. Btw, any tips on the Kabal MU? Everyone says Kenshi is her worst MU, but I find it easier than the Kabal one. The main problem I have here is that it always seems like the MU is a guessing game in his favor. Even when I get in he has the advantage. What should I do when I get in, in order to stay in? The standart Kit rushdown doesn't seem to work on him.

dude OMG Kenshi es the worst by far and I mean FAR, I rather figher a pool full of Kabals than 1 Kenshi for real.

Just my opinions here. I highlighted where I differ in opinion from 16 Bit, but only for the sake of discussion and to get some insight, not because I'm saying 16 Bit is wrong.

I do feel like this matchup is less free for Kitana than robot Cyrax, given that she loses her zoning advantage against him. To me, the matchup has a completely different feel. 16 Bit gives excellent reasons for this still being 6/4, though.

I'm getting more familiar with this matchup now that more people are picking up Freddy, but my results against good Freddy players always remind me of 16Bit vs. m2dave at EVO. IMO Kitana's lack of broken-ass armor hurts her here.

IMO a Kabal with good spacing and perfect iAGBs will shut down Kitana every time without question. Kitana has to rely on mistakes (close blocked ground saws and whiffed strings) and cannot start her own offense if Kabal has meter (which is 99% of the time).

The difference between Kenshi and Kabal is that Kabal has way more options than Kenshi. With Kenshi, yeah, he's armored as fuckall, but he does not have a low projectile with knockdown, nor does he have a full-screen armored launcher into full combo + free pressure. At least with Kenshi, you know the gameplan, but with Kabal, he can rush you down or keep you out, and as soon as you adapt too much to one style, he can check you to make sure you're still respecting his other options.

I will say, though, that this matchup approaches 4/6 on the smallest stages.

Yes but still knowing Kenshis game plan hes still harder to beat than Kabal, atleast you can jump at Kabal hes anti airs arnt too good, and he wont send you full screen away whit 1 hit jeje.
