New freddy tech as of 4/2/12

noob question what are the inputs :confused: too lazy to check for myself how to do a few of these attacks looks really great especially the forced stand on a 50% combo and the chip at the end is really cool

after hitting standing 4, the opponent can armor out of every option you have except for D+1.
hmm, in testing this vs a trustworthy friend, they were not able to. his standing 4 is similar to the stun that cyrax's command grab puts you in. But in the event you are right, just do standing 4, ex dream drop. you are now also armored.

after ex claw. standing 4> f.2,1,4 > ex sweet dreams > Up+3 > f.2,1,4 > NMS(1,2, or 3)
 
after more testing, you cannot armor ou of 2 or F+4 after being hit by 4 while cornered. however, the window is small. even be a little off and they will armor out.

yea, that sounds about right. if I were to do the 1,1,1 string instead, it would probably be safer, as its faster. thanks for the input man!

oops, forgot to add that lol. yea.. 1, 2, F+4, D+3, and D+1 are all uninterruptable.

4 does not give as much frame advantage as Cyrax's command throw. Don't let the animation fool you. f+2,1,4 xx EX sweet dreams should also be interruptable by armor because f+2,1,4 isn't safe on block. Something like f+4,3 xx sweet dreams could work, though. I'll test all of this off-line by the end of the week.

sounds good dave, look forward to hear back from you. the only reason I rely on it here is because they are corner trapped.

- you can definitely armor through 4 -> f+4,2,1. By the way, any time your opponent can jump (and the following hits hit as AA), you can armor through them. That means there is not adequate advantage for the string to be "armor proof".

- you can armor through or use a quick poke to interrupt a blocked f+3 -> f+4,2,1.

- f+2,1,4 xx sweet dreams (or any other combination canceled into the EX sweet dreams) is punishable by quick moves that advance forward (i.e., Raiden's superman, Reptile's elbow dash) or armor moves that advance forward (i.e., Skarlet's EX dash xx slide).

I still think Viper's set ups are viable vs characters like Sektor, Sindel, and Smoke. But players who use Kenshi, Rain, or Sonya will just blow through these frame traps if they are familiar with them. So I would be careful.

both baraka's spin and charge can also get out using the wakeup invin frames,
charge of course is a full combo on block at the distance and you can bait the spin and neutral duck it and again full combo so there are risks for baraka trying this

in that case, it probably wouldnt be terrible to do f.2,1 > ex dream drop then vs such characters?

I think doing EX sweet dreams traps vs. characters who have no armor is acceptable, but I would rarely ever go for it vs. Jax, Cage, or Sonya. These three characters can switch the momentum of the fight in a heartbeat and make Freddy block for an extended period of time. If you do f+2,1,4 xx sweet dreams vs. a cornered Jax, for example, he can EX dash punch and put you into the corner, and now the fight could be over if you have no meter.

Ive never actually seen a ex dash punch trade with ex sweet dreams in the corner before. Does jax actually pass through you? and in the case im playing jax , I'd go into nms from f.2,1,(4) ducking under and respond accordingly with a punish or a teleport depending on the move.

Yes. That is the better and safer choice.

And EX sweet dreams is actually punishable by fast advancing special moves. EX dash punch is one of those special moves. If you are pressuring Jax in the corner with EX sweet dreams, he can reverse positions with you with EX dash punch. Being cornered by Jax is one of the worst situations that Freddy can put himself into, and no mix up or frame trap is worth ending up in the corner vs. this character. In the corner, f+4,1,3 is more or less a semi-block infinite combo vs. Freddy unless you have meter for an EX teleport to escape.

gotcha. Had no idea jax could pass through. Guess Ill be looking to a quick option off of standing 4 by either teleporting out, grabbing, or 1,1.

So instead of 4, why not just end in 2 2 1+ 2 sweet dreams? It makes them block on wakeup and saves a meter.

because 4 keeps them standing with the ability to lead into a free 50/50 mixup. when you knock them down, for example, lets say mileena, she can roll or tele-kick after you knock her down and do dream drop. Trust me, I know, I got bodied by Pig in Grand finals yesterday for trying it.
