I play on a 360 and I really want a hitbox, but it's not available on hitboxarcade to who knows when and no adapters work on it, so I was wondering if there is anyone out there that can make it work on a ps3 and a 360? I would really hate to eventually have to buy 2 so I can play at local tournaments. I can't find any kind of e-mail address on their site either...any help would be great.

I have a theory that the wait list is just to generate hype. I was put on the waiting list on October 4th, told it was ready a few days later and got the hitbox in the same month.

Xbox claims to have a longer wait, but I would be surprised if it was terribly long.

If I want to buy it there is no option for the 360 though. But what I really want to know is if there is a company or something that can mod it to make it possible to work on 360/ps3.

Checking my email, I have been on the waitlist since August 4th. I didn't put in the comments that I wanted one for Xbox, so I'd assume I'm on that list.

Jep, I'm modding my hitbox. What I'm doing is:

Order Imp V2, USB Jack and MC Cthulhu Upgrade Kit from http://www.godlikecontrols.com/order.html

Order the ps2 to Xbox360 converter at http://etokki.com/Xbox360/Xtokki360

Upgrade the Ps3 Cthulhu board inside the hitbox, use the ps2 output to convert to xbox 360 and put them together using the Imp V2. Also, I´m taking apart the xTokki device, solder the wires directly onto it and just leave it in the hitbox. This way I don't have to drill extra holes. Further, I don't know how the MC Cthulhu detects ps2. Maybe I just have to upgrade to MC Cthulhu and just use the xtokki converter externally. I'll have to test that.

I'm still waiting for components. I ordered the pcb's at lizardlick.com but it's almost a month later now and I didn´t get my stuff. Also they are not responding to mails. I still have to place my order art godlikecontrols. So I couldn't verify if all the parts work together the way I described.

I will write up a topic when I'm done doing this because there are a lot of people out there that want an xbox-hitbox. :) [EDIT] If it works

The xbox360 version works on ps3 as well. It's dual modded. Otherwise you could buy the ps3 version and have someone dual mod it.

Why do you need ps2 converter?

Why is the 360 dual modded but not the ps3? Any proof of this being a fact, because all I know is the 360 version isn't available.

Yeah they are not available yet because they are still waiting for the PS360+ PCBs to actually be manufactured. They've been waiting awhile but they still aren't done yet. And the PS360+ will be a multi console PCB. It definitely handles 360 and PS3. The PS3 hitboxes are made with the Cthulu PCB. That one only does PS3, but can be dual modded with a wired xbox 360 PCB. Hitbox sells the ps3 hitbox as is, but you can always get it dual modded later if you choose to.

Well, you could go for a ps3 to 360 converter but they are scarce, they don't seem very reliable and neither of them even confirmed to work with hitbox as far as I know. The ps2 converter I have (xTokki) has a lot better reputation. No lag and such. I don't know for 100% if it works with MC Cthulhu but the converter is only 20 bucks, and I'm have good confidence that it works.

Dual modding a hitbox isn't the same as dual modding a fightstick; you cannot just put in a hacked xbox-pad because of the SOCD (when pressing opposite directions together). You're only options are basically Cthulhu boards with a converter. As far as I know. Open to suggestions, btw.

There are currently no custom boards that support xbox360, or very hard to get. And the boards that will support xbox360, will also support ps3. Maybe someday there will be a MC Cthulhu update that also supports xbox360. These things are firmware upgradeable.

I finally got to sit down for about an hour and a half last night with my buddies' hitbox, if you're fluent on a keyboard, they're amazing. Took me about 10 minutes to get it down and everything was coming out as smooth as glass. If anyone has the funds and is interested in it, get it, the learning curve is relatively low if you're dexterous enough from typing. Counting down the days where I can save $160 for my own...

Oh and yeah, if you're intending on using Kabal with the HB, those iAGBs come out very very easily...

I've been using mine for about a week or two but I can't say I'm fully used to it. The basics are easy and some characters feel more natural with it than others. Mileena for example feels kinda strange. I can do instant Air Sais pretty easy with stick but not with hitbox. Rain feels like he was made for hitbox. I picked up Cyrax because he feels quite natural with it.

The jump button is giving me the most trouble. I have to consciously remind myself of its location every time.

Mortal Kombat is very 'compatible' with it. Street Fighter is another story for me, most combo's I could do easy with stick are giving me trouble on HB. Even the links won't come out properly, wtf?

Yeah, the hitbox just feels natural for MK. I think it'd be odd playing AE or UMVC3 with it though. The only character I was having any trouble with was Reptile, and that was merely due to the NJP, I'm used to the plinking method on pad so that'd be something I'd need to work on...but other than that everything felt okay. Cage, Ermac and Sektor all felt good with it.

Well I ordered mine from HitBox last Wednesday and had it shipped to J&J SoCal modding to get it dual modded and SOCD cleaned and stuff.

I'd just like to say, predominantly in my gaming career, I've been a console gamer, that has been adjusted to pad for most of my life. For all sorts of games, and Fighting Games. I am also a heavy internet user, so lots of times I'm on my PC, browsing forums, chatting, doing assignments, and such, I've also had about 2 years worth of experience playing MMORPGs, which rely on Keyboards to play.

With that said, I wanted to expand my options for FGs, so I weighed my options, to either get a Arcade Stick or Hit Box, and I have to say, I went with the Hit Box because I will be more familiar with keytype inputs/buttons.

This is to all the people that are unsure, my decision wasn't biased at all. People say Hit Box is no use, there are lots of people out there that find the Hit Box a suitable fit for them, like me.

Regardless of what I've decided to get both Stick/Hit Box are going to be foreign to me, as I've never used either for FGs, except a pad. So, in conclusion, my first time learning anything will be a Hit Box, which I think, I made the right choice, no?

Only time and experience can tell. ;)

I'm a heavy keyboard user myself, I even played emulated fightinggames on keyboard. But at this point I'm not sure whether I will be as confident on hitbox as I am on stick.

Thing is for me, I've never used a Stick. At all, ever, where I was comfortable with it. I tried it once, and disliked it, I hate the feeling of my hand that I grip the Stick with feels extremely disconnected from my other hand.

Also, BTW, I was coming to post this here. I've sent my Hit Box to these guys to get it dual modded and 'cleaned' up, SOCD and all that jazz. This is for you Hit Box lovers, if you ever want stuff done, these guys are the ones you want to contact. J&J is awesome, and I'm a first time customer! Highly recommend them.

I couldn't adjust to the up button on the bottom (the official hitbox layout). So I switched down button wire with the up button wire, and it feels much better and more natural for me. Jumping left is the top 2 left buttons, right is the top 2 right buttons. down-forward and down-back motions are done with the thumb and index finger or thumb and ring finger. I like this a lot more, and I will finish the adjusting period much better.

Different Hitbox left+right behaviour

Want I'm thinking about is the way hitbox behaves when pressing left and right together. Now when you do, they cancel eachother out. What if you could make it so, that the last button pressed takes over? So when I press right when holding left it register right and vice versa. This way you could you could make left, right movements immediately.

It already does this for up and down but only when you press up when holding down, which you would want. I have a vague idea on how to do this but I'd like to know how people would feel about this before I put in time and effort.

Would it be too much? Would you rather have it behave this way, if you had a hitbox?

I appreciate all and any opinion about this but if you are against it, please mention if you are already against hitbox in the first place.

This has already been discussed on shoryuken. There's a mod you can get for your hitbox that will do just that. You don't even need to be a programmer to get it to work. I will post a link when I find it.

Yeah, I figured I wasn't the first to come up with it. I didn't know a mod already existed, though.

But still I would like to know what people think of it.

Thanks for the info! I'll take a look on shoryuken.
