well really so what if the sektor manages to get it to connect all the time, that d1 will not give him ANYTHING, you tell me its space oriented, yet i fail to see how it could be anything other than just in range for the move to connect at all, unless you're talking about the b3 jailing them into stand blocking after a jip?
So what if a move gives frames or not? Its the difference of making that move punishable or unpunishable.

Is there a difference between spacing and 'in range the the move to connect'? lol There is a 'sweet spot' where if Sektor's shin hits with the b3 the 4 has to be blocked, even if you are crouch blocking.

We are getting off topic, I'm not trying to insult your intelligence, just getting the facts straight.

Here's my matchup chart for Baraka:

4-6 vs Noob

For the record: I don't believe in decimals for matchups because there's no such thing as ".5 of a match." Just my opinion.
I have your same mentality on no such thing as ".5" bs, but Baraka over Noob!!? We gotta do some serious casual play at ExpCon to clarify this cause I have this as 7-3 for Noob. Baraka's only scary with meter and easy to zone imo. Thoughts for now man?

Lol I think you read it wrong man. I put Noob beats Baraka in the matchup 6-4. I def don't think it's 7-3. Once Baraka gets in, Noob has a tough time getting out, BUT getting in is the problem. And since I have to keep you close, ending any bnb with Blade Rush is bad, so I can never get full damage. I say 6-4 though because once Baraka gets to about midscreen range he can start punishing blocked tackles and slides with Rush, and Noob has no easy out for frame traps. Still though, probably Baraka's 2nd worst zoner matchup (behind Kitana).

I agree. Baraka's frame traps and upclose game kill noob, but the problem I see Baraka has is getting in without meter. In this match I don't think Baraka can build meter very well so he needs to manage it extra carefully. And often when he gets in on Noob, Noob already built plenty of meter from the chip damage/zoning. Judging from the casuals we've had I'd say your 6-4 seems accurate.

Sektor is at a disadvantage against Mileena. It's one of the match ups I know best. She can poke him out of EVERY block string since she has a low hit box, she can teleport kick on reaction to any missile or flamethrower used, and she can only be punished by an uppercut off a blocked teleport kick since Sektor is at risk of being hit by the follow up sai if he tries to do anything else.

Aside from Smoke, this is his worst match up; by no means is this in Sektor's favor.

I dunno man, I feel like Sektor is a better Mileena. He hits harder, zones better, and has safer pressure. He also has a safe counter-zone tool in EX teleport which mileena does not. Punishing telekick with uppercut is fine, all characters do this, but you be even more creative and njP if Mileena is doing a delayed air sai afterwards. (Does Sektor teleport punish regular telekick on block?)

The thing with reaction telekicks is that is normally only works at full screen. (unless the Sektor gets too predictable). Telekick isn't extremely fast like a Raiden tele, so it'll be hit on the way down if done too late. She also can't trade with him and iAS feels useless in this match

The mid screen game, where Mileena shines, is overshadowed by flamethrower and b1, as well as that forward elbow move (f2?). You're right about that she can poke out of his strings fairly easily, but this match feels a lot like Mileena vs herself only with less poking and better damage from Sektor. My take on it anyway.

No way, Dont agree with zero effect. Horrible matchup for sektor. I have this in my chart 4.5-5.5 but i might change it to 4-6 in Mils favor. I agree with swifts post.

Am I qualified to give my opinion on Reptile's matchups? Or has that been overdone? I am not as good as THTB/ChrisG/Sabin but I have played in 5 tournaments offline and placed decently in most of them.

Basically she loses to anyone who zones better than her, plus gets around her zoning passably.
Sai's doing 6% damage sucks, and the fact she has no armor apart from her X-ray sucks. (it's workable though, but everyone else got armor to deal with Kabal, so...)
For an air projectile, Air Sai has a ridiculously small hitbox on it. Kabal's has a huge hitbox, does 9% damage, fires faster, is easier to mash out, and leads to combos that are more devastating than Mileena's.
Kitana, same as Kabal, but 7% damage, and fires slower. (just talking Kabal/Kitana advantages vs other characters here, not Kitana/Kabal vs Mileena)

Nah Pimp... she does not lose to NW, Shang, or Kano, and barely is at disadvantage against Smoke.

NW has to gamble out of her pressure or spend meter. He doesn't handle her zoning all that well even with armor. If he reflects, Mileena can go under her own sai with roll. (6/4 Mil favor)

Kano, his knives are better projectiles, but he has similar problems to NW in that he has a harder time with her poking pressure. D4/D3 will always go under upball so his traps with it don't work as well. he hits hard, but he still ends up having to guess around her. This match is probably closer to even than NW, but he doesn't beat her. (6/4 Mil favor Maybe 5.5/4.5 in her favor)

I already explained Sub earlier and why he's a bad matchup now (6/4 his favor).

And although Jade can blow through zoning, she just can't keep up with Mileena pressure at mid to close range. Mileena can even the match up with less sais and more string pressure (5/5)

How does Shang zoning win vs her? His zoning is mostly prediction. He has to throw out close ground skulls in case she rolls or telekicks, she's far too mobile for him to lock down as easily as some other characters.

About that Mileena matchup Vs Cage. I would say its in Cages favour, hes never got to jump so throwing sai around all day doesnt mean much, even with meter Mileena cant get him off of her, her D4 gets beat by his F3 and her blocked specials (Ball,Tele) are full combo punishable, which most characters cant do against her.

6-4 Cage

I havent looked that in depth about the Sektor Vs Mileena matchup but it seems like Mileena should win, she can roll on reaction to a straight missle, that seems pretty big in that matchup to me.

Jax - Mileena is 5-5, possibly in Jax's favour. She cant really keep him out because of his buffed projectile, and he's one of the better characters in the game for punishing telekicks. He cant rely on Ground Pounds though, she can telekick on reaction and afaik Jax's only answer is to cancel into anti air grab, which is extremely unreliable.

6-4 Cage

I've gotta respectfully disagree about Cage. D4 is very impactful in this matchup because it accomplishes 2 things. First, it counters shadow kick attempts at that range, and second, it allows her enough space to force Cage to chase her. (Generally, anytime Mileena makes you chase her she wins. On the flipside, whenever she has to chase her opponents she has a much harder time... but i digress)

D4 might lose to F3, but that sequence seems mostly theoretical and situational. Example: If Mileena tries to D4 out of his pressure, Cage will win that 100% of the time. But D4 will almost always be thrown out at max distance in this particular matchup. This will stuff his attempts to come forward. D3 is actually her tool to get out of his pressure. I also don't see how he plans to get in on her and stay there without jumping at all.

The idea is that she can poke at him outside of his own poke range (iAS is kind of used as a poke in this scenario as well) until he uses bar to armor through, or tries to maneuver around it. The reason I have it as 5.5/4.5 instead of 6/4 is that I don't think Mileena controls pace against Cage like she would a NW or a Kano. As for the punishment, yeah Cage does a little bit better than most given the nutpunch ender, but all in all, her risk/reward for specials is the same in every matchup.

That'd be like saying Mileena beats Cage since she can punish shadow kick and nut punch with roll combos. It's just a given that these moves are unsafe if blocked and it doesn't really change the overall matchup much.

Edit: As much as i want to believe Sektor loses, I just can't see it. Yes, roll/telekick beats straight missile, but I don't see good Sektors recklessly shooting those things out at her at the range where she can reaction roll/telekick. (Mileena can not telekick most projectiles on reaction inside of 3/4 screen distance.) I'm pretty sure Sektor can Teleport on reaction to any sai, except maybe iAS, at that same distance, so it's even in that regard. Sektor does a lot more damage, has better keepout tools, and a safe counter-zone EX teleport. When I look at Sektor he seems like a slightly better Mileena in terms of tools. I don't think Mileena's helpless against him but it's just hard for me to see this as her favor.

Konqrr

MK11 Kabal = MK9 Kitana
Sektor can d1~teleport punch mileena after blocking a telekick~sai no matter where she throws it as long as the sai whiffs.

Cage has an incredibly hard time getting in against Mileena's iAS. Why is Cage vs Kitana/Sub not in his favor? He can't get in, same thing against Mileena.

I agree there's no way Mileena beats Sektor. Its an even 5-5 at best. Sektor remains one of the most underated characters in the game.

What buff did his projectile get? Haven't played but one Jax since the latest patch.

I agree, but people underrate Mileena too.

I keep reading how Mileena goes even with characters like Jax, Johnny Cage, and Kano. How is that possible when there is very little they can do about d+4? d+4 dominates a lot of characters at mid range. It is the ultimate mid range zoning tool. It is like vanilla Ryu's d+MK on steroids. You are forced to jump to approach, which the Mileena player can easily ball on reaction. To make matters more difficult for others, she also has access to an above average fireball, one of the best anti-zoning special moves in the game, and an overhead that is at least +5 on block, so you get to check almost all characters with, you guessed it, d+4 thereafter. She has one of the smallest crouching hitboxes too. She is easily a top 10 character.

Really? Damn.... This with the instant armor buffs and the new overhead F3... So does Jax have any real weaknesses now besides ducking Lunge punch?

I need to play a good Jax then, cause it's sounding like a potential problem. Might turn out to be worse than a 4/6 at the rate it's going.
